Call 212-289-9600 and make sure that your resume was received. Once your resume is reviewed, you will be contacted to set-up an interview. If you are what Vertical City is looking for, and do not have a New York State Salesperson's license, follow the instructions below. If you are licensed, we will discuss your start date and set up Vertical City Realty, Inc. as your sponsoring broker. To become a licensed real estate broker in New York State, you must adhere to the following procedure. Step 1 : You must attend a Real Estate School or take a Real Estate Courses. (www.nyrei.com) Step 2 : Upon completion of the Real Estate Courses, you must pass the examination and receive a certificate stating that you took the courses and passed the examination. Step 3 : Once you have passed your Real Estate School examination, you must take and pass the New York State Real Estate Salesperson Examination. Bring your Sponsoring Broker Authorization Form to a Vertical City office to be signed by an authorized broker. Step 4 : Once you pass the New York State Real Estate Salesperson Examination, before you can become licensed, you must be sponsored by a Real Estate broker or firm. Step 5 : When you have a sponsor, you will need to get a letter of authorization (a temporary license). To do this you must go to the Department of State located at 123 William Street, 19th floor. Bring with you a check for $50.00 made out to the Department of State, your pink and yellow pass slips received after passing the state examination and the application given to you upon completion of your Real Estate Courses. You may also mail copies of all documents to the Department of State located at 84 Holland Avenue, Albany, New York, 12208-3409. Step 6 : Upon submission of the aforementioned items, the Department of State will fax a letter of authorization (temporary license) to the Department of State in Albany for approval. You will receive acceptance or denial on the spot and if approved, you will leave with your temporary license in hand. If you choose to mail your documents to the Department of State, you will not receive instant approval and can expect to receive your temporary license within 3-4 weeks. Step 7 : When you show up for your first day of work, bring your temporary license with you. Your non-temporary license will be sent to the brokerage within 3-4 weeks after a temporary license is issued.
