East Harlem
|
 |
East Harlem may very well be the fastest changing neighborhood in the city. Originally dominated by New York City's Puerto Rican community, this neighborhood has had a huge influx of young professionals and students who cannot afford downtown prices. Just a subway stop away from the Upper East Side, East Harlem is not only the last affordable place to live in Manhattan, but is a stone's throw away from the restaurants, bars, shops, and movie theatres of the Upper East Side. Many new restaurants and bars are popping up all over the neighborhood including the trendy Diner Bar and Orbit. You will also find highly exclusive Rao's Italian Restaurant on Pleasant Avenue.
